And, the majority of those who visit museums “consume” Art by staying in front of each work only a few seconds which hardly leaves any time for anyone to be touched by the work of art.
Our museums are full of treasures. They give us access to invaluable human, emotional and aesthetic experiences …
… as long as we take the time to stop and immerse ourselves.
Thereby Mindful Art allows us to be an actor in what we observe, and to come back to our senses.

So how do you open museums to the uninitiated while offering regulars a new perspective on their approach to works of art?
Our Mindful Art method is part of the Slow Art process, offering everyone a concrete journey to serenity and art.
During Mindful Art visits, Marjan Abadie offers meditative practice as a support that opens up a mental space in the service of a unique, individual, sensory and emotional experience. The meditative approach makes it possible to get closer to each work of art in a way that is both intimate and universal.
It is a space to take the time and manage to let oneself be moved by the works in an intimate way, and to create a deep and personal link with them.
Thus Mindful Art practice responds to two primary needs: to enjoy and feed on works of art on the one hand, and to slow down on the pace of life on the other.

Our approach establishes a full presence without judgment that allows us to focus and thus to open to the work of art and to oneself in a much better and more effective way.
Thereby , our Mindful Art meditation concept makes it possible to gain candor, and thus to look at the works simply, with a new perspective, and to rediscover the sense of wonder.
Our deeply humanist approach is above all an invitation to see with the heart. Mindful Art allows us to touch our common humanity, beyond centuries, knowledge and fashions, beyond our cultural affiliations, and our differences.
What can Mindful Art bring to us? Mindful Art allows us to be an actor in what we observe, to reconnect with our senses and make us ‘be’ rather than simply ‘do’
During our interventions, we pay particular attention to::
• Create personal bonds between each person and the work ;
• Allow to get out of appearance and knowledge (our usual mode and Knowledge) to go towards being and feeling (consciousness).
In other words, Mindful Art allows us to be an actor in what we observe, and to come back to our senses, to be rather than to do, to feel the humanity that emerges from these works and places, whose themes touch upon universality and humanity.
Mindful ART: The cultural & educational museum break..
In our society, which is going faster and faster, many people no longer have time. It is the same in museums where too little time is being offered to absorb the work of art and to be moved by it.
During our Mindful Art tours, each work can be an invitation to a contemplative break.
We help participants to stop, in order to live in the space and time of here and now, and establish an intimate and personal connection with the work. Thus, it is not necessary to “know” how to meditate or have an affinity for a type of art or for a particular artistic period.

A certified mindfulness instructor and supervisor, Marjan Abadie, created the Mindfulness Institute in Brussels, a pioneer in the application of the Mindfulness approach in business. A longtime meditator, she teaches the benefits of this practice to allow everyone to integrate it into their daily lives, at home and work.
Passionate about art and being fond of Sufi poetry, she offers a meditative approach to each work in both personal and universal with the qualities of presence, serenity, openness and finesse to observe what we “only see well through the heart “.
